Our coalition is a network of independent organizations working together to help people rebuild life after prison. Bring the services you already offer and help families find a more complete network of support.

A housing connection. A ride to work. A network that stays connected.
YOUR EXPERTISE CAN FILL A REAL NEED
Two connections that can change the journey.
DOCUMENT & FAMILY SUPPORT
Help a family support the plan.
We welcome organizations that can help families prepare, organize, and print support letters and other parole-packet documents. Careful participant identification helps the right documents reach the right person.
A well-prepared packet also becomes a practical action plan for life after release.
Job-readiness providers, employers open to hiring people with criminal records, and coaches can help returning citizens (people coming home after prison) prepare for interviews, navigate setbacks, and follow through on goals.
We are building these connections and would welcome a conversation about featuring your organization on our homepage, with your permission.

50,612Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) releases in fiscal year 2025
Coming home happens every day.
Behind each release is a transition involving practical needs, family expectations, and new responsibilities. TDCJ recorded 50,612 releases across prisons, state jails, and specialized substance-use treatment facilities in FY 2025.
Release events, not a count of unique people. Separate from GoingHome participation or outcomes.
ONE PERSON’S NEEDS CROSS MANY DOORS
Good services. Better connections.
A job offer matters. So do a safe place to sleep, food, transportation, and someone to call when plans change.
HOUSING PROVIDER
A stable place to begin.
A provider helps someone explore a suitable housing option.
EMPLOYMENT PARTNER
A path toward income.
Another helps with readiness, an interview, or a fair-chance employer.
TRANSPORTATION & COACHING
A way to follow through.
A ride and a coach help connect the plan to daily life.
An illustrative example of coordinated support. Each provider keeps its own requirements for receiving help and available capacity.
Working as a coalition helps us see the whole picture, share accurate referral information, and identify gaps before they derail a plan. Our shared goals are to reduce recidivism (returning to crime or the justice system, as defined by each study), help prevent crime, strengthen families, and rebuild communities. Membership alone does not guarantee those outcomes; the work is matching practical support to each person’s needs and following through.
GoingHome participants build a professional parole packet (an organized collection of plans, support letters, and documents for the parole board) that also serves as their action plan, a résumé, a realistic budget, and a network of people and organizations offering support. Estelle is our main program location inside a two-unit Texas program.
Coalition partners help turn that preparation into practical connections after release—through housing, transportation, employment, food, clothing, education, coaching, and Christian community.

MANY ORGANIZATIONS. A SHARED PURPOSE.
There’s a place for what you provide.
Churches, ministries, nonprofits, government agencies, employers, and education providers can contribute within their own mission and capacity. You do not need to offer everything to make a meaningful connection.
